Filled exclusively with premium Grade 1 mangosteens, this box celebrates our best-selling in its purest form. Sweet, delicate, juicy-soft and bursting with a unique blend of flavours only found in the mangosteen. Thought of by many as “the best tasting fruit in the world.”

Behind its deep purple shell sits brilliant white segmented flesh with an almost sorbet-like texture and a flavour that moves between peach, strawberry, citrus and vanilla.

For us, mangosteen is one of the greatest fruits of all time.

Each box is filled with Grade 1 mangosteen, carefully selected for quality, condition and flavour.

Description

Mangosteen has earned legendary status throughout the tropical world. Native to Southeast Asia, the fruit has been cultivated for centuries and became so highly regarded that it acquired its enduring title “The Queen of Fruits.”

Crack through the thick purple rind and the contrast is extraordinary. Inside are snow white segments of soft, juicy flesh with a complex flavour that is simultaneously sweet, floral, subtly tangy and very refreshing.

Mangosteen is also naturally a source of many different vitamins and minerals, while the plant contains naturally occurring compounds known as xanthones. These polyphenolic compounds have attracted scientific interest for their antioxidant and other biological properties, particularly in laboratory research.

But mangosteen doesn’t need a laboratory to explain why it is so sacred. It’s been used ceremonially to connect to the spirits across its native lands for thousands of years!
